about me
Marc-André Maillet
I’ve spent most of my life around teams. As a coach, a founder, and someone who cares deeply about how people show up for each other. At the heart of that journey is my first and most important team, my family and our three young kids, who continue to shape how I lead, coach, and live.
I studied Coaching Education and Economics because I was curious about two things. How people grow, and how systems shape behavior. That curiosity led me to work in high-performance environments with Ohio University, the Montréal Canadiens Hockey Club, and later to co-found Beyond Pulse, a technology company built to support youth coaches and the environments they create.
Across every chapter, one thing stayed consistent. I was always drawn to the conversations happening behind the scenes. The ones about purpose, pressure, identity, and change. The questions leaders rarely have space to explore while they are busy taking care of everyone else.
That pull eventually led me to co-active coaching and to starting Acumen Collective.
When you work with me, the focus is not on doing more or becoming a better version of yourself through another set of tools. It is about the being behind the leader. Who you are. Who you want to be. And how your actions can come from that place, rather than defining it.
Much of our culture measures value through doing. Output. Performance. Results. This work creates space to reconnect with being, so that what you do is aligned with who you are, not the other way around.
I integrate proven frameworks like Stakeholder-Centered Coaching and the Wheel of Coaching, not as prescriptions, but as mirrors. They help bring awareness to the many roles and responsibilities leaders carry and invite real ownership across each one. The work itself happens in the reflection, the honesty, and the choices you make from there.
I am drawn to people who are in the arena. The ones carrying responsibility, making decisions, and showing up even when it is hard. Most of them have plenty of knowledge and tools available to them. What is missing is a place to slow down and anchor it in who they are. In our one-on-one work, we go beyond the mind. We include the body, emotions, and spirit, so your leadership is integrated, sustainable, and true to you.
Whether through one-on-one coaching or small peer cohorts, my role is simple. To walk alongside you, ask real questions, and help you stay connected to what matters so you can lead from a more grounded, human place.
If this resonates, I would love to connect.
